I have hand pruners, loppers, and a larger saw that I use on trees and bushes in the yard. I tend to go to electric chain saws if I need something bigger. This saw fits well between the items that are too big for the loppers and too small for the hand saw. These don't work well for really small branches that fit between the saw teeth so my hand pruners are still used often.The hand saw is much harder to carry around so I don't get it out until I find a need for it. This foldable unit is small enough I can carry it around with my other tools and when folded, I don't have to worry about cutting myself when carrying a handful of tools.It works well but the saw does have a little bit of flex when in the open position. I'd prefer the blade didnt move at all from the handle when open. But it doesn't seem to affect my using it. The channel in the handle is quite noticeable while cutting with the saw, but not truly uncomfortable - especially if wearing yard gloves.I haven't had this long at all, but I haven't used the larger hand saw since I've used this. It really is that more convenient due to the smaller size. When I've needed something larger, I've opted for my electric chain saw - so I could likely get rid of the the hand saw at this point.
